CLASS DESCRIPTION
Have fun learning the basics of Roman capitals using colored pencils on black paper. We will explore a variety of techniques including press and release for stroke variation, blending colors and simple composition. We will also have the opportunity to combine our writing with a simple contour drawing. Learn about spacing and how to create a variety of casual capital styles based on classical Roman proportions. Sharon provides a fun, pressure-free learning atmosphere with lots of handouts and encouragement! All levels of experience are welcome.

Please join us in April 2025 for a nourishing, regenerative, creative retreat at the Mabel Dodge Luhan House. In addition to comfortable lodging, delicious meals and the breathtaking Taos landscape, participants will enjoy a pressure-free opportunity for creative expression focusing on art and writing. Between them, Carolyn and Sharon have years of facilitating and teaching experience and will offer gentle guidance throughout the week. Spaciousness, mindfulness, restoring vitality and igniting creativity will be the main focus.
Included in the retreat:
*daily breakfast and lunch–Some dinners included
*writing, art excercises focused on PROCESS not product
*open art studio
*art supplies and handouts (Supply fee for art supplies)
*Transportation to and from the retreat not included.
*Travel: Daily flights to Albuquerque, car rental, shuttle bus between Taos and Albuquerque airport. There are also direct flights between Austin and Taos.
